Roopa(Rehan) is a dancer in a troupe owned by Professor(Yakub). Professor steals a necklace and while on train to avoid police he slips the necklace into the unsuspecting Engineer's (Dev Anand) pocket. Now he pushes Roopa to get close to get close to Engineer for retrieving the necklace and they fall in love. The Diwan of the village where they are performing had lost his daughter long ago and when the Engineer goes to Bombay he takes special care of Roopa and feels for her. Is the necklace found?
