Sooraj (Salman Khan) and Yash (Sanjay Kapoor) are the best of friends studying in the same college. Prarthana (Shilpa Shetty) is the life of the two friends. Sooraj and Yash keep on trying all sorts of tricks to win her heart. Thakur Saheb (Paresh Rawal) Father of Yash is an underworld Don. He wants his son to follow his footsteps, but Yash has nothing but hatred for his Father's ill-begotten wealth. There is an unseen barrier between father and son. In the same city resides another Don Bhaiji Kiran Kumar who's the sworn enemy of Thakur Saheb. Sooraj wants to bridge the differences and distances between Yash and his father. On Thakur's (Paresh Rawal's) birthday with the intention to uniting the father and son, comes with Yash to the Basti. Here Bhaiji's (Kiran Kumar's) men attack Thakur family endangering his life. Doctor tellsYash that there was no hope of saving his father's Iife. Yash in a fit of rage kills Bhaiji.Yash gets the news in the hospital that his father's life is saved but he has been crippled for the rest of his Life. Thakur Saheb does a lot of pleading so that his son may take over the underworld chair. Yash reluctantly occupies his father's chair. Sooraj is disillusioned with Yash and he leaves the city. Yash marries Prarthana. Bhaiji's Son Baba (Nirmal Pandey) is now Yash's sworn enemy. He lures the members of Yash's gang. organises attacks on Prarthana. In short makes life miserable for Yash. During this testing time, Sooraj returns and becomes Prarthana's saviour. One day Baba's men try to kidnap Prarthana. Sooraj by endangering his own life rescues Prarthana. While doing so a card falls from his pocket. Prarthana picks it up and on examining if, is shocked to know that Sooraj is Police Officer. On Prarthana's enquiry Sooraj tells her that after parting from Yash, he too like his forefather's joined the Police Force and he had to come to this city to arrest all the criminals who are after Bhaiji's death and crippling Thakur Saheb, running the underworld. Sooraj informs her that the person is none other than her husband, his friend Yash. Did Sooraj arrests Yash and hands him over to the law? Did Baba kill Yash and revenge his father’s death? Did Thakur Saheb comes to know Sooraj's real identify? Did Prarthana reveal Sooraj's true identity to Yash? Is Yash the person who's running the underworld?
